Share
This article will guide when you need to remove nail builder extension gels, whether at home or in a salon, what you'll need, and what you should pay attention to keep your nails healthy.
1. Remover Gel Polish(Essential - regular nail polish remover won't work well enough).
2. Nail File: To remove the top layer.
3. Cuticle Oil: For intense rehydration afterwards.
4. Cotton Balls or Pads: OR Lint-Free Wipes/Pads: (Lint-free is better as cotton can leave fibers stuck in the gel).
5. Orange Wood Sticks or Metal Pusher (If Necessary).
The Safe Removal Process is as Below:
Action 1. Trim (If Necessary):
If you have long nail extensions, carefully clip them down to a very short free edge using nail clippers. This makes the next steps easier and reduces the leverage that could stress your natural nail.
Action 2. File Off the Top Shiny Layer (CRUCIAL STEP):
Use the coarse grit file to gently file off the entire top layer of the builder gel. Your goal is to remove the shine completely and expose the matte, slightly rough layer underneath.
Action 3. Prepare Remove Gel:
Just use the remover gel polish to brush onto your nails and wait 3-5 minutes. You will notice that the gel polish will be peeled off, and the nail polish will naturally crack. Then wipe gently with a Lint-Free wipe and alcohol to remove the gel polish easily. It can effectively and quickly remove nail glue and save valuable time.
Action 4. The Final Work:
Use Orange Wood Sticks or Metal Pusher: cleaning up some leftover gel polish on the nails(If Necessary), and brush the cuticle Oil to keep your nails intensely rehydration afterwards, and apply a rich hand cream.
By following these steps carefully and patiently, you can remove builder gel effectively while minimizing damage to your natural nails and keeping your nails healthy!
